However, with students out for the summer, the school staff had to seek additional assistance."Usually during the school year, NHS, National Honor Society, helps us out, and rotary helps us out," said Butler. "But of course, with school being out, we don't have as many volunteers with the students not being here. So, today, we have the North Platte Public School Board helping. They'll be able to get their hands dirty and help distribute the food."This collaborative effort demonstrates the community's commitment to addressing the issue of food insecurity. "It just depends on if the food bank has some extra to distribute."This adaptability ensures that the food pantry can meet the diverse dietary needs of the community, providing a well-rounded selection of nutritious options.
